For this round of artful links, I will focus on Etsy shops. If you still have not discovered it, please do so now. You will not regret it. Etsy shops are full of handmade goodness. Artists of all types can set up an online shop for free. There are fees for listing your goods, but they are minimal, 20 cents per listing to be precise and 3.50% of the purchase price.
I’m listing here a few favorite shops that I have come across while browsing at Etsy. Of course, there are many many more wonderful shops. So go have a look if you haven’t done so yet, even if you don’t buy anything, I guarantee you will be inspired by all the fabulous handmade goods.
Lizard Press offers letterpress cards and posters. They are individually designed and hand printed on a letterpress with vintage wood type on recycled and cotton paper.
You will find original prints and cards at Jenn Ski Art. The artist is a graphic designer with a passion for modern and mid-20th century art and design. This fusion is reflected in her work. Her designs are abstract patterns using sophisticated bright colors.
Sonya Gallardo from Hi.Cutie.Pie is a mixed media artist whose work is fun, whimsical and unplanned. She uses scraps from old math notes to yarn, paper and markers. The juxtaposition of such varied materials makes for very interesting textures and compositions.
Another favorite mixed media collage artist is Swallowfield. Her work is graphic and bold, yet whimsical.
EmmaLynne’s photography is pretty, soft, dreamy and feminine. She prints her own prints and her photos are also available as note cards.
Ricki from Ricki Mountain Studios is a california independent artist who creates abstract expressionist paintings. She uses several different media to create colorful textural compositions on paper and canvas.
