Introducing the latest member of our family, born January 25th at 5:02p.m. He’s such a good boy! Even his little cry is cute, or it could be that I’m finally immune to cries being annoying after the 3thd baby.
It has been a long road getting to this point. The last trimester of my pregnancy was a scary time as I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. My body felt so weak and beaten down, I could barely walk down a flight of stairs. So I was on bed rest, or at least I tried to be on bed rest with 2 other kids to care for. It wasn’t easy. It was also very frustrating to be limited with my activities.
Then a bout of bronchitis made it’s way into my lungs and stubbornly decided to stay for nearly 2 months. So I gave birth with constant coughing about every 5 minutes or so. Let’s see… what else could go wrong, well we brought home a beautiful baby. Before you know it, the whole family caught a nasty, nasty cold/flu, including the newborn baby.
My 2 other kiddos never became sick that soon into their young lives, so that was frightening for me. Worrying about him getting a fever, which he did get, but it was mild, thank God! I felt horrible watching him cough and sneeze out all that mucus, poor thing…
But we finally are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Baby is much better, we are all able the breathe easier again. Now I’m hoping for better things to come. Spring is just around the corner!
